"CHROME" signed with the Managing Authority of the Operational Program "Innovation and Competitiveness" a grant agreement for the implementation of project BG16RFOP002-3.001-0711 "Integrated activities for improvement of energy efficiency in Chrom SA". The funds for the implementation of the project are provided by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund, with a total value of BGN 554,400, of which BGN 385,600 are financed.
The main objective of the project proposal is to improve the energy efficiency indicators of Chrom JSC, thus contributing to the more sustainable growth as well as to the higher competitiveness of the enterprise at national and export level.
In order to achieve this goal and to create conditions for realization of energy savings of more than 184 MW per year, the implementation of the project "Chrom" AD sets the following specific goals:
1. Reduction of energy intensity and increase of production capacity at the welding stage;
2. Reducing the consumption of electricity for lighting and hot water for the needs of the workshop;
3. Creation of conditions for automated monitoring, measurement and analysis of energy flows;
4. Reduce energy costs, respectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions by systematically managing energy.
The envisaged project activities, including the purchase of new energy-efficient welding robots, switching to energy-efficient lighting, the introduction of a waste heat recovery system and an automated energy consumption monitoring system, and the introduction and certification of an energy monitoring system are directly related contribute to the realization of these goals. The expected long-term effects of the upcoming technological upgrading in the plant will make production more resource efficient and greener, which will strengthen Chrom's competitiveness by lower production costs. In this respect, the project objectives are fully in line with the objectives of the BG16RFOP002-3.001 procedure "Energy efficiency for small and medium-sized enterprises" and will contribute to achieving the expected results of the funding provided.
